Getting Started

This guide will walk you through setting up your Make Money From Coding account and publishing your first product in minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account

1. Visit makemoneyfromcoding.com/sign-up
2. Enter your email and create a password
3. Verify your email address
4. Complete your profile

Step 2: Configure Payment Processing

To start accepting payments, you'll need to connect your Stripe account:

1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Payments
2. Click Connect Stripe
3. Enter your Stripe API keys:
   • Publishable Key (starts with pk_)
   • Secret Key (starts with sk_)
   • Webhook Secret (optional, for testing locally)

Getting Your Stripe Keys

1. Log in to stripe.com/dashboard
2. Click Developers → API keys
3. Copy your Publishable key and Secret key
4. For webhook secret, create a webhook endpoint pointing to:

   https://yourdomain.com/api/webhooks/stripe
   

Step 3: Set Up Email (Optional)

Configure SendGrid to send transactional emails and newsletters:

1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Email
2. Enter your SendGrid API key
3. Set your from email and name

Step 4: Create Your First Product

Option A: Digital Download Product

1. Go to Dashboard → Products
2. Click Create Product
3. Fill in the details:
   • Title: Name of your product
   • Description: What customers will get
   • Price: Set your price (or make it free)
   • Type: Select "Digital Download"
4. Upload your files (ZIP, PDF, code, etc.)
5. Click Publish

Option B: Service/Consulting

1. Go to Dashboard → Services
2. Click Create Service
3. Configure:
   • Service Name: e.g., "1-on-1 Coaching"
   • Duration: Meeting length
   • Price: Your hourly rate or flat fee
   • Availability: Set your available hours
4. Create a scheduling link
5. Share the link with clients

Step 5: Share Your Products

Once published, you'll get a public URL for each product:

https://makemoneyfromcoding.com/[your-username]/[product-slug]

Share this link on:

• Your website
• Social media
• Email newsletters
• GitHub README
• Dev.to, Hashnode, or Medium articles

Step 6: Track Your Sales

Monitor your revenue in real-time:

1. Go to Dashboard → Sales
2. View:
   • Total revenue
   • Recent transactions
   • Product performance
   • Customer analytics

Common Questions

Can I use my own domain?

Yes! You can use a custom domain for your product pages and checkout. Configure this in Settings → Domain.

What's the commission?

We don't take any commission. You keep 100% of your revenue (minus standard Stripe payment processing fees).

Can I sell subscriptions?

Yes! Create subscription products with recurring billing through Stripe.

Is there a free plan?

Yes! Our free plan includes everything you need to start selling. Premium plans add advanced features like custom domains, priority support, and white-labeling.
